CLARA GERDES IN RECITAL
Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 7:30 pm

St. Bartholomew’s is known around the world as home to one of the world’s (and New York City’s) largest pipe organs, with its thrilling chorus of 12,422 pipes and the recently-restored Celestial division housed in the dome. Assistant Organist Clara Gerdes, explored the rich colors of the organ in a transcription of Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloe Suite No. 2, a work of transcendent beauty, as well as Julius Reubke’s virtuosic and monumental Sonata on the 94th Psalm.
